
Cristina Cosme, BA
Cristina Cosme, was born, raised, and educated in Newark, New Jersey. She currently serves asthe Assistant Director of the Joseph A. Unanue Latino Institute at Seton Hall University. Ms. Cosme has over a decade of initiating and implementing programs to engage and empower her community through the development of youth.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Seton Hall University and is currently pursuing her Masters of Public Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit management. Ms. Cosme is a current member of the New Jersey League of Women Voters, which empowers voters and defends democracy. A proud graduate of the Governor's Hispanic Fellowship at the NJ Department of State’s Center of Hispanic Policy, Research, and Development (CHPRD), Cristina is an active member of the CHPRD Alumni Association.
Cristina’s commitment to supporting the next generation of leaders has driven her to volunteer her skills set and donate to a scholarship for the Boys to Leaders Foundation, an organization that empowers, motivates, and inspires young men, by providing leadership training, educational programs, positive personal and professional development.
Cristina is a member of LUPE (Latinas United for Political Empowerment) Fund, Inc., an organization dedicated to the empowerment of all Latinas in New Jersey. Ms. Cosme is actively involved in engaging Latinas in the LUPE mission, to Empower, Educate, and Engage women from all walks of life through leadership, advocacy, and education to benefit all communities.
Cristina is also a proud fellow at the Leadership Newark Program, which focuses on public policy and issues that affect the city as well as various community engagement projects. She is also a proud sister of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated.
