A native of Venezuela, Astrid D. Chacon embarked on a transformative journey when she migrated to the United States in 2007 at the age of 19. Astrid earned her undergraduate degree in Mass Communications from Kean University in May 2014, and she subsequently pursued an Executive MBA in Global Management, culminating in her graduation in 2024.
Astrid's dedication to her school community and involvement in academic extracurricular projects earned her the prestigious Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges award in 2013. In 2020, she became the Public Relations Director for the Graduate Global Business Club at Kean University. In 2023, she proudly represented the Latino community as one of Kean University’s ambassadors on the Amazon show “The College Tour,” highlighting the Hispanic Program. Additionally, she served as the alumni speaker for the Class of 2023 in the SUPERA Program at Kean University.
Astrid began her professional journey in the retail field before transitioning to commercial real estate at SPARC Group LLC. Over the past thirteen years, she has held senior management roles across various SPARC umbrella brands and other national retail companies. This foundational experience not only deepened her understanding of the retail landscape but also honed her strong business acumen. As a result, she is adept at negotiating and navigating the complexities of commercial real estate transactions, leases, and construction budgets and contracts.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Astrid is passionately dedicated to giving back to her community. She serves as a chair of the Pa’Lante Employee Resource Group at SPARC Group LLC. Her insights and leadership were further acknowledged when she was invited to speak at her company's store leadership forum, where she shared her experiences as a woman in retail, earning accolades as a professional leader. In April 2023, she was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Certificate from Kean University in recognition of her contributions to the Hispanic community.
